  On a recommendation from my daughter who lives nearby, I believe Al's has become our favorite quaint restaurant! It is truly a gem! The food was outstanding, (even though it was just a hamburger) and the service was top notch! It is the kind of place where you can sit with a good friend over good food in an atmosphere that's comfortable and not rushed. There is music playing softly in the background but just enough to make it quaint and or romantic. A perfect date-night type of restaurant. Loved it!

  Al's Cafe reminds me of some of the small coffee shops and cafes that I have eaten at when camping in northern Michigan. Ultimately, it is a really homely place.
  
  The burger I had was pretty average, though the blue cheese topping made it worthwhile. The sandwiches that some of the other customers got seemed like they may have been a better buy (I think I saw a reuben that looked pretty good). Lastly, their milk shakes are definitely fantastic!
